Declaration of intent between BT-and MSE
At the request of BT Nederland, Meijer Special Equipment has developed an electric pallet truck with telescopic extending forks. According to BT there is a great need for pallet trucks whereby it is possible to adjust the length of the forks but until now nobody had thought up this construction.
Since Meijer Special Equipment is no stranger to BT-Industries, because of the well-known telescopic forks which are sold under the brand name KOOI-REACHFORKS, MSE has been approached to develop the concept. With the enormous experience in the field of deep drilling technology and hydraulic systems the ReachMover has been born. The advantage of extendible support forks on pallet trucks is that it reduces the turning circle enormously and a time profit is achieved. In lorries in particular, a short turning circle is an advantage because of the restricted space. Moreover a considerable saving in money can be obtained through the reduction of damage. Just like standard fork-lift truck forks, the support forks of pallet trucks are either too long or too short. In the case of a Euro pallet the support forks can be extended, for example, to a length from 800 mm up to 1200 mm. During the lifting of the pallet the support forks no longer protrude on the long side, and pallets and or goods lying behind cannot be damaged or tip backwards.
The first prototype of the ReachMover was launched as a world first on Wednesday last on the 3-annual Logistica beurs (logistics fair) in Utrecht. The responses have been overwhelming and the first orders have already been booked, although the ReachMover is not available until the second half of next year. A worldwide patent on the principle of the ReachMover has been requested.
